CARL GUSTAFSON was born on Feb. 28, 1910. He worked for several architectural firms for many years, and was an engraver of fine jewelry.

 

Gustafson moved to Rockport in 1970 and shortly after took up painting with watercolors. He was a member of the Rockport Art Association and a former member of the North Shore Art Association. Gustafson, at the age of 98, was a self-taught classical violin player, and still enjoyed driving his car at the age of 100.
